Migration & Upgrade
Roughly every quarter of a year a new minor version of Optimize. These document guides you through the process of migrating your Optimize from one Optimize minor version to the other. This applies to any upgrades of the version number “after the first dot”, example: 2.1 to 2.2.
If you want to upgrade Optimize by several minor versions, you cannot do at once but need to perform the minor upgrades in a sequential order. For instance, if you want to upgrade from 2.1 to 2.4, you need to upgrade first from 2.1 to 2.2, then from 2.2 to 2.3 and finally from 2.3 to 2.4.
Please note that the upgrade feature is only supported from Optimize version 2.1 and onwards. To migrate from 2.0 to 2.1 please follow the respective instructions.
Migrate instruction from 2.1 onwards
To migrate to the latest version, please perform the following steps:
Heads Up!
The migration guide is still work in progress. You can expect the missing instruction to be added soon.
Migrate from 2.0 to 2.1 only
Please be aware when upgrading from 2.0 to 2.1 you cannot keep your data, which means you lose:
- all the reports, dashboard and alerts you configured so far.
- all the data you have already imported from the Camunda Platform.
To upgrade to 2.1, you can perform the following steps:
- Save the
environment-config.yaml
and theenvironment-logback.xml
files from theenvironment
folder. - Delete the old version of Optimize .
- Install Optimize.
- Add the saved configuration files to the
environment
folder. - Check that your configuration properties are still aligned with the latest Optimize configuration version, as they might change from version to version.
Now you just have to wait until the data is imported again.
